I believe we all have a unique purpose for being on this planet. We have all heard this soo many times. What does this actually mean for you? We often spend so much time comparing ourselves to others in terms of talents, giftings, resources, and looks that we miss stepping into our own uniqueness. Sure, some people seem to have been given multiple talents but no matter if you have one or ten, we are all responsible to use them to reach our full potential. Jesus spoke of this in Matthew 25:14-30. All of us have been given passion that will fulfil our lives even if our pasts have squashed this passion from us. Are you actively searching for opportunities to use the gifts already given you? Or are you spending most of your time comparing yourself to others, crippled by the past, thereby never developing the gifts God has given you? Our purpose isn’t always the most clear-cut path laid before us; Sometimes we need to dig and bloom where we are planted for a while. It is not easy, but actively searching for opportunities to use what you HAVE NOW is how you step into your destiny. As you actively and passionately serve others you will be surprised at how things begin to become clearer. What do you love doing? What do people often ask you to do for them? What do respected leaders recognise in you? These are the questions that will get you headed in the right direction. Sitting and gazing at those around will always keep you crippled and feeling less-than. Stop the comparison game and be yourself. Christine Caine wrote, “To step into tomorrow’s possibilities you must let go of yesterday’s realities. Be careful of your choices between what was, is and will be. It is very hard to fully step into your destiny while you are holding onto your history”. Deal with the past and let it go; Use what you know you DO have to serve others. Blooming where you are planted causes doors to open you never knew existed and brings peace and contentment into your life.
